In the weeks leading up to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in November 2011, a nine-session “APEC 2011 Opportunity Series” will inform local companies and connect them with real international opportunities. The series is being developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and will feature dynamic speakers from the U.S. Embassies in each APEC market and private sector firms with experience in key APEC countries. Each session will focus on the market opportunities specific to Hawaii businesses, how to do business in each country, and the resources available for finding buyers or partners in each market.
This informative and timely seminar series will kick off on July 28, 2011 with the first session featuring Japan and South Korea. This session will include the latest on the Japan recovery and current business climate and the huge potential of the pending free trade agreement with South Korea. The APEC 2011 Opportunity Series has three objectives:
July 2, 2011 - "Asia in Review" presented by the Law Offices of David Day, with contributing host David Day, and guests John Holman and Lesley Harvey, discussing the new Export University and the upcoming APEC country-specific seminars in time for APEC.
